SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
The Submission guidelines should be strictly followed:
- Page Setup:
- Use standard letter-sized paper (8.5 x 11 inches).
- Set margins to at least 1 inch on all sides.
- Font and Spacing:
- Use a clear, readable font such as Times New Roman, Arial, or similar, in 12-point size.
- Double-space the entire document, including footnotes and block quotations.
- Headings:
- Use a consistent hierarchy of headings to organize the article (e.g., main headings in bold, subheadings in italics).
- Clearly differentiate between different levels of headings (e.g., use bold for main headings and italics for subheadings).
- Text Alignment and Justification:
- Align text to the left margin (ragged right) rather than justifying it, as justified text can create uneven spacing.
- Exceptions may include block quotations and certain legal documents, which may be aligned differently based on the journal’s style preferences.
- Line Spacing and Indentation:
- Indent the first line of each paragraph by 0.5 inches (or follow the journal’s specific indentation requirements).
- Do not add extra spacing between paragraphs unless specified by the journal.
- Footnotes and Citations:
- Use footnotes rather than endnotes for citations and explanatory notes.
- Follow the preferred citation style guide (e.g., Bluebook) for formatting citations and footnotes.
- Ensure consistency in citation style throughout the document.
- Tables and Figures:
- Number tables and figures sequentially, and provide clear and concise titles.
- Ensure tables and figures are legible and appropriately formatted within the margins of the page.
- Include citations for tables and figures as necessary.
- Headers and Pagination:
- Include a header on each page with the article title (or abbreviated title) and page number.
- Follow the journal’s guidelines for pagination, including any requirements for starting page numbers on specific pages (e.g., page 1 starts on the first page of the main text, excluding title pages and table of contents).
- Length and Formatting Restrictions:
- Adhere to any specified word limits or page limits for submissions.
- Follow any additional formatting instructions provided by the journal, such as requirements for formatting block quotes, lists, or special characters.
- File Format:
- Submit the document in a commonly used file format such as Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) or PDF (.pdf), unless otherwise specified by the journal.
